Autonomous Submarine Camera Housing

The camera housing design for an autonomous underwater vehicle using re-purposed parts.

This project was completed for AUVIC (the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Interdisciplinary Club) at the University of Victoria.

This external camera housing design needed to accommodate the following: support for the internal structure, electrical connections, and the camera viewing requirements. The design also re-purposes an existing main flange (the transparent component in the picture above) and plastic dome.

I saw this project through from start to finish including completing the CAD model, sourcing the materials, machining the components myself, and complete assembly.
